when a major style guide makes a clown decision
i bang out a quick newsletter because i love trans people
it is more apparent than ever that trans people can only rely on ourselves in the face of all the nonsense going on. this is something that many multiply marginalized folks are familiar with. so in response to associated press’s unfounded and divorced-from-reality statement today, and because I need a break from my day job, here are some trans and/or literary links I’ve come across in the last few days. forgive me for not providing a fully fledged newsletter like usual.
trans lifeline’s two microgrants close TODAY at 11:59 eastern time
gigantic sequins is offering fee waivers for their upcoming contest for trans and/or BIPOC submitters
we need diverse books is open for their annual grant, this time with specific awards for unpublished trans and/or disabled applicants
I interviewed the talented writer, editor, and friend Diamond Braxton over at
for our first feature. check it out below
last of all, for the cis readers, consider sending a trans person you know $5 or something. subscribe to their substack, read their books, buy their art, drive them to scary name change appointments. be a good person.
